Dress up your eyes for the night

You may have seen celebrities like Scarlett Johansson and Angelina Jolie sporting sexy eyes. Who said you can`t get the same look? Here`s how to create the sultry look

Even out your skin tone

When your eyes are the centre of attraction, make it a point to keep the rest of your face flawless and glowing. Do not spend a lot of time in piling on layers of make-up. Just make sure to even out your complexion by using the right shade of foundation depending on your skin tone. Apply a light dusting of bronzer and concealer under your eyes to neutralize any darker areas.

Opt for darker tones

The smokey eye look works best with darker tones such as dark gray or brown eyeshadow and liner, combined with a lighter tone. The sheen contained in the lighter tone will accentuate the brow bone and inner corner of the eye.

Do it right

Go over your whole lid with a dark chocolaty brown or charcoal gray. Choose a shade that can be blended easily for a softer look. While applying, see to it that the entire eye lid is covered. Also be careful not to make the layer too thick and for this, avoid swiping colour and instead pat it on. Next, apply some more of the dark shade on the bottom part of the lid with a slightly heavier hand and smudge so that it`s not a defined line.

Line your eyes

Apply a dark brown or black liner (depending on the shade of shadow you chose) on top of the lid, starting from the middle of the upper lid very close to the lash line.

Add depth and intensity

If you have extra large eyes, use the black or brown liner on the inside of the top and bottom lid to intensify the eye and help larger eyes appear smaller. Try lengthening the line at the end of the lid going outwards; this will elongate the eye as well as help create that almond eye shape.

Add a lighter tone

Apply a lighter tone like ivory or soft beige (may be slight shimmery) in the inner corner of the eye and along the brow bone. This will help enhance those areas and brighten up your eyes. Finish your smokey eye make-up with lengthening and thickening mascara.
