Iranian President Hassan Rouhani
Iranian President Hassan Rouhani on Saturday claimed that Israel had killed top nuclear scientist Mohsen Fakhrizadeh. At the same time, he warned that the killing would not slow down Iran’s nuclear programme.
Fakhrizade, who is considered as Father of Iranian bomb, was shot “by terrorists” in his vehicle in Absard, a suburb in eastern Tehran on Friday.
Rouhani also promised to retaliate for Fakhrizadeh’s assassination.
He said, “Iran’s enemies should know that the Iranian people and officials are more courageous than leaving these criminals unanswered. The crime will be given befitting replies.”
Israel has not yet responded to the allegation. However, Israel has always opposed Iran’s nuclear programme. Israel also claimed that Fakhrizadeh was behind Tehran’s nuclear programme.
