Joe Biden, the President-elect of the United States, has also announced that he will take vaccine in front of camera to reassure people over the safety of the coronavirus vaccine.

He made the announcement in an interview with CNN on Thursday (December 3).

Earlier, three former US presidents-- Barack Obama, George W. Bush and Bill Clinton-- announced the vaccination in front of camera.

A survey conducted by Ipsos-MORI last August found that one-third of Americans are not interested in getting vaccinated. They have expressed concern about safety of the vaccine.

Biden said, “People have lost confidence in the effectiveness of the vaccine. That number is already surprisingly low, and it remains to be seen what the president and vice president will do.”

He also said in an interview that he would urge citizens to wear masks for the first 100 days after taking power to stop the spread of coronavirus.

Biden said, “I believe that if every US citizen covers the face, the rate of Covid-19 infection would be significantly reduced.”
