Around 100 criminals are on Trump`s pardons list

Outgoing President Donald Trump is preparing to issue around 100 pardons and commutations on his final full day in office Tuesday before the swearing-in of newly elected US President Joe Biden.

The outgoing president will sign the document on Tuesday. Trump administration officials have confirmed this information. However, he or his close family members may not be covered.

Trump met with son-in-law Jared Kushner, daughter Ivanka Trump and senior advisers to prepare a final list, selected from the apology list, the Washington Post reported Monday.

The media claimed that the president had spent most of the day personally examining each case and finalizing the list.

January 19 is President Trump's last full working day. He will be able to sign a general amnesty until Joe Biden is sworn in as the new president on January 20 at noon.

The list was updated at the White House on Sunday. Just as President Trump will grant general amnesty to his own people, he will also acquit some of them in advance.

In this case, the US Constitution has given the President omnipotence. According to CNN, the names of those who will come under the amnesty were finalized at a meeting at the White House last Sunday.

Donald Trump has already been indicted in Congress for inciting supporters to riot at the US Capitol on January 8. That process is awaiting trial in the Senate. Trump will lose his candidacy for the presidency in 2024 if convicted there. There is also an opportunity for central and state government authorities to take legal action against Trump after he leaves office.

White House officials say Trump has been embroiled in a personal debate with allies over whether to forgive himself. But some insiders in the administration have advised him to refrain from the move. Their argument is that Trump would be considered a criminal if such a step were taken.

It is unknown at this time what he will do after leaving the post. However, speculation is that Steve Bannon, Trump's aide, has been convicted of financial fraud in a wall-building project on the Mexican border. There may also be Rudy Gilani, Trump's longtime personal lawyer.
