Malaysia government has issued the lockdown in name of ‘the Movement Control Order (MCO)’ across the country to curb the coronavirus infection. The lockdown will be effective from May 12 to June 7.
Malaysian Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin made the announcement in a statement after holding a meeting the country’s national security council.
He said, “The third wave of the coronavirus infection is more severe than the first and second waves. It is almost impossible to maintain social distance by keeping everything running. It is not possible to prevent coronavirus infection without forcing people to stay at home.”
