Covid-19 death toll in India reaches 2.5 lakh-mark

The grim landscape of India’s Covid-19 crisis continues to turn darker by the day as the total number of deaths due to the deadly virus has reached 2,50,025 in the country.
There were as many as 3,876 fatalities in the past 24 hours across the country, taking the overall death toll to 2,50,025 ever since the pandemic began last year.
India also recorded 3,29,942 new Covid-19 cases and 3,56,082 discharges in the past one day, as per the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
With this, the total caseload of the country has mounted to 2,29,92,517, with 37,15,221 active cases at present.
A total of 1,90,27,304 people have so far been discharged from hospitals and medical facilities across the country.
“More than 18 crore vaccine doses have so far been provided to states and Union Territories free of cost by the government of India. More than 90 lakh doses are still available with states and UTs to be administered. In addition to that, more than 7 lakh doses will be received by states and UTs in the next 3 days,” the Health Ministry said.
