World sees a drop in Covid-19 infections, deaths

The world is witnessing a reduction in coronavirus (Covid-19) infections and deaths. More than 5,500 more people have died and over 3.5 lakh people have been infected with the virus across the world in the past 24 hours.
A total of 5,748 more people died from coronavirus infections worldwide in the past 24 hours, raising the total number of deaths in the virus to 47,05,461. On the other hand, the death toll in the virus was 6,764 in the previous day.
Besides, some 3,50,897 people tested positive for coronavirus (Covid-19) worldwide over the same period, raising the total number of infected cases to 22,92,88,247. But a day before, the number of daily coronavirus cases was 4,16,784.
Meanwhile, some 20,59,08,941 people have made recoveries from the virus infections across the world so far.
International survey organisation Worldometer disclosed the information on Monday (September 20) morning.
The first coronavirus outbreak occurred in Wuhan, China, in December of 2019. It started spreading in different countries of the world since then.
