Over 8000 Covid-19 deaths, 31 lakh fresh cases reported worldwide

More than 8,000 people have died of coronavirus (Covid-19) infections and over 31 lakh people have been infected with the virus across the world in the past 24 hours.

A total of 8,032 more people died from coronavirus infections worldwide in the past 24 hours, raising the total number of deaths in the virus to 55,30,281. On the other hand, the death toll in the virus was 7,847 in the previous day.

Besides, some 31,42,480 people tested positive for coronavirus worldwide over the same period, raising the total number of infected cases to 31,75,17,460. But a day before, the number of daily coronavirus cases was 27,72,068.

Meanwhile, some 26,28,22,385 people have made recoveries from the virus infections across the world so far.

International survey organisation Worldometer disclosed the information on Thursday (January 13) morning.

The first coronavirus outbreak occurred in Wuhan, China, in December of 2019. It started spreading in different countries of the world since then.
