Global Covid-19 cases surpass 52.5 crore

Some 1,360 more people died from coronavirus (Covid-19) infections worldwide in the past 24 hours, raising the total number of deaths in the virus to 62,98,703.

Besides, some 7,59,996 people tested positive for coronavirus worldwide over the same period, raising the total number of infected cases to 52,63,80,831.

Some 7,53,033 people have recovered from the virus infection over the same period, bringing the total recoveries to 46,61,04,894.

International survey organisation Worldometer came up with the information on Saturday (May 21) morning.

The first coronavirus outbreak occurred in Wuhan, China, in December of 2019. It started spreading in different countries of the world since then.
