5 killed in Jammu and Kashmir

At least three Indian soldiers and two rebels were killed in a fierce exchange of gunfire in India administered Jammu and Kashmir early Thursday.

A heavy exchange of gunfire took place between security forces and rebels near Pargal army camp in Darhal tehsil of Rajouri district.

A cordon and search operation was already going on in the area from the past two days after two gunmen were spotted by villagers.

In a tweet, an army spokesman said that two terrorists trying to sneak into a post in the dark were detected and engaged by alert troops.
