10 killed in Kabul mosque explosion

At least 10 people were killed in a bombing at a mosque in the Afghan capital of Kabul during evening prayers on Wednesday.
According to an eyewitness and police, a prominent cleric was also killed.
According to the eyewitness, a resident of the city’s Kher Khanna neighbourhood where the Siddiquiya Mosque was targeted, the explosion was carried out by a suicide bomber.
The slain cleric was Mullah Amir Mohammad Kabuli, the eyewitness said, speaking on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to talk to the media.
The emergency hospital in the Afghan capital said they had received 27 people wounded in the blast, including children.
Last week, a blast in Kabul killed two people, including a renowned religious scholar. The Islamic State claimed responsibility for the attack.
Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid also condemned the explosion and vowed that the “perpetrators of such crimes will soon be brought to justice and will be punished.”
