7 tourists killed as bus falls into valley in Himachal

Seven tourists were killed and 10 others injured after the bus they were travelling in fell into a valley in Himachal Pradesh’s Kullu late Sunday, said the police.
According to the police, the bodies of five people had been retrieved Monday morning. They also said some of the injured were sent to the Banjar Hospital and others were admitted to the zonal hospital in Kullu. Two others died during treatment, they added.
The Tempo Traveller was ferrying 17 tourists from Madhya Pradesh, Delhi, and other states at the time of the accident which took place near Jalori Pass. Officials suspect the vehicle skidded off the path due to poor visibility and rain.
A late-night search and rescue operation was carried out by the officials of the district administration and local residents.
Tweeting about the incident, PM Narendra Modi extended his condolences to the bereaved families and stated that all possible help is being provided to those injured in the accident._The Indian Express
