Staff Correspondent: The Election Commission (EC) has postponed Mymensingh`s Gafargaon Municipal election as per court orders.
The High Court issued an ordinance to postpone the municipality election by three months.
An HC vacation bench of Justice Salma Masud Chowdhury passed the order on Tuesday.
Deputy Attorney General Biswajit Roy represented the state while advocate Yusuf Hossain Humayun stood for the petitioner.
Municipal polls to be held on December 30 in 234 municipalities across the country. Some 923 candidates are vying for mayor posts and 1122 for councilor posts.
