BFIU seeks bank account details of Shahed

Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU) has sought bank account details of Regent Hospital chairman Md Shahed.

Abu Hena Md Razi Hasan, Deputy Governor of Bangladesh Bank and Chief of Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit, confirmed the matter on Wednesday (July 8) night.

Following the issue, he said, BFIU take steps in case of cheat and money laundering. Letters were sent to all commercial bank executives seeking information in this regard.

Earlier, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) filed a case against 17 officials and staff members of Regent Hospital, including its chairman Md. Shahed, for allegedly faking several thousand COVID-19 certificates.
