Ex-army officer shot dead: All cops of check post withdrawn

All cops of Teknaf marine drive check post have been withdrawnl over the incident of shooting a retired army major by police.

They were withdrawn in an office order issued on Sunday afternoon, said Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal.

He said, ‘The incident was very unfortunate. All cops of the check post were withdrawn to conduct a neutral investigation over the incident. Alongside, the check post has also been asked to removed.’

Earlier on Sunday noon, Home Minister told reporters that a committee has been formed to investigate into the incident in fair and neutral manner. No matter who will be found guilty will face punishment on the basis of recommendations made by the committee.
 
The victim was identified as Sinha Md Rashed Khan, a former major in the Bangladesh Army.
