Offices reopen, attendance very thin

All offices, including government, semi-government and private ones, reopened on Monday after the vacation on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha.

Attendance at the Secretariat, the administrative hub of the country, was very thin as many officers and employees did not turn up.

The officials and employees were seen exchanging Eid greetings with their colleagues amid a festive mood.

The government and private offices, banks and other offices and business establishments went into holiday on Thursday.

With the city-dwellers went to the native places to celebrate the occasion with their near and dear ones, the city streets became almost empty with very low traffic movement.

However, the roads in Dhaka are yet to see the usual traffic chaos.
