Two Bangladeshis killed in Lebanon explosion, hotline launches

Two Bangladesh nationals were killed in a terrible chemical explosion occurred on Tuesday evening at a warehouse in Beirut of Lebanon.

They were known as Mehedi Hassan of Brahmanbaria and Mizanur Rahman of Shariyatpur. They were workers in the country.

Bangladesh Embassy in Beirut launches a hotline number (+961 81 744 207) for query over casualties of Bangladesh citizens in the incident.

The embassy confirmed this in a message on Wednesday.

Bangladesh Embassy said, ‘Two powerful explosions were occurred at a chemical warehouse in Beirut around 6:00pm on Tuesday, leaving two Bangladeshis killed. If any Bangladesh national is found among casualties, please contact on the number +961 81 744 207.

Mentionable, the terrible blasts left more than hundred people killed and more than 4,000 wounded. Of them, many are in critical conditions. The number dead may rise further.
