Dhaka returning to its old look

Office goers are returning to their work stations after Eid-ul-Azha vacations. As a result, the number of buses, private cars, auto rickshaws are increasing. However, a few numbers of people are seen wearing masks. 

A tendency to avoid health rules is found among the city dwellers.

The presence of people has increased in capital’s Mirpur-1, 2, 10, Shamoly, Dhanmondi, New Market, Karwan Bazar and Farmgate areas. Although buses are carrying passengers maintaining government order but passengers are boarding those transports violating social distance.


Visiting bus terminals in Gabtoli, Kalyanpur, Shamoly and Mohakhali this reporter noticed that people are returning to Dhaka from various areas of the country. Such Dhaka-bound passenger pressure would continue till next Sunday.

Ilias Hossain, a passengers in Mirpur-1 told risingbd, “Passengers pressure is high today. I have been waiting here for a long time to get on the bus but could not manage a seat in bus. Most of the buses carrying passengers at half capacity due to Coronavirus. Dhaka is becoming a busy city again after a pause.
