Papia, her husband land in jail after remand ends

Jubo Mohila League’s suspended leader Shamima Nur Papia and her husband Mofizur Rahman alias Sumon Chowdhury landed in jail after remand.
They were sent to jail in a case filed under special power act lodged with airport police station.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Masud-ur-Rahman passed the order on Friday.
Earlier, investigation officer (IO) of the case RAB-1 assistant superintendent of police Salauddin produced before the court and sought an order to confine them in jail.
Papia and her husband Sumon were placed on remand for five days on March 11. On the day, they were also placed on remand for five days in a case filed under arms and special power act. But they were not interrogated due to coronavirus outbreak.
