Holy Ashura on August 30

Holy Ashura, commemorating the martyrdom of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA), will be observed in the country on August 30 as the Muharram moon was sighted in Bangladesh sky.
Public Relations Officer (PRO) of Islamic Foundation Shaila Sharmin confirmed the matter on Thursday night (August 20).
Earlier, national moon sighting committee joined a meeting at Islamic Foundation conference room of Baitul Mukarram National Mosque in Dhaka.
Religious affairs ministry secretary Nurul Islam presided over the meeting virtually.
Holy Ashura is observed on 10th of Muharram in the Hijri year commemorating the martyrdom of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA), grandson of Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (pbuh).
