DMP to terminate 26 cops for taking drugs

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) is going to sack its 26 police members as they tested positive for drugs.

DMP Commissioner Mohammad Shafiqul Islam made the announcement while addressing reporters after inaugurating an office of Deputy Commissioner in Mirpur on Saturday (September 26).

He said, “We have conducted a dope test for the police officials who were suspected to be taking drugs. Among them, 26 tested positive. The process to terminate them from police department has been started.”

The DMP commissioner also said, “We believe that if we take actions against this group then everyone else will also get a clear message that we are not going to spare anyone. We will not spare anyone in this regard.”

Additional police commissioner (CTTC) Md. Monirul Islam, Additional police commissioner (admin) Mir Rezaul Alam, Additional police commissioner (detective), AKM Hafiz Aktar, and other top officials were attended the function.
