Five years have passed but the trial of Italian national Cesare Tavella murder case is yet to be completed. Though, the concerned authority is expecting the trial in the case would end this year.

On September 28, 2015, Cesare Tavella, an officer of Profitable Opportunities for Food Security (Proofs), a project of Netherlands-based organisation ICCO Cooperation, was shot dead by miscreants on Road 90 in Gulshan-2 in the capital. Later, his colleague filed a murder case with Gulshan police station.

The sensational murder case is still pending with Dhaka metropolitan sessions judge’s court as it’s yet to finish hearing the testimony of prosecution witnesses. The court fixed October 14 for the next hearing in the case.

Additional public prosecutor Taposh Kumar Paul said, the testimony of the witness in the case is almost finished. The trail is delayed as the court had long been shut due to Coronavirus.
