PM instructs to ensure all types of waste management

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has directed the authorities concerned to give special importance in strengthening the management not only for medical waste but also for all types of wastes.

She came up with the directive at the meeting of Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (Ecnec) on Tuesday (Sept 29).

Planning Minister MA Mannan briefed reporters after the meeting.

The planning minister said, “The prime minister has asked to dispose of all types of wastes from bus, boat, biman and other stations. She has directed the organisations concerned to discharge their duties properly.”

For the protection of cultivable lands, the premier has also asked not to establish industries where they are not necessary, he said.

She suggested setting up industries in economic zones, Mannan said.
