PM inaugurates ‘Pani Bhaban’

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has inaugurated the newly constructed “Pani Bhaban” today (October 1) at the capital’s Green Road area through a video conference
The Pani Bhaban has been established for the smooth management and sustainable development of water resources in the country.
Through this inauguration, Bangladesh Water Development Board (BWDB) got its own building after 49 years of Independence.
Constructed at a cost of Taka 261 crore, the foundation stone of the 12-storied building was laid on January 31, 2015, by the prime minister.
Built in line with the design made by engineers of Bangladesh Water Development Board, it took around 4.5 years to construct the building with 4,20,000 square feet space.
The modern installation has a central air conditioning system, solar panels, sewage treatment plant and rain water reservoir.
It has an auditorium to host 536 people at a time, with a helipad of 4,500 square feet, parking facility for 376 vehicles and state of the art firefighting system.
A pond with memories related to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, has been kept intact while constructing the building and a water body of 20,625 square feet was also made.
