Philippines Ambassador makes call on foreign minister Dr AK Abdul Momen
Bangladesh has sought Philippines’ support on sustainable repatriation of the Rohingyas.
The urge was made while Philippines Ambassador to Bangladesh Vicente Vivencio T. Bandillo made call on foreign minister Dr AK Abdul Momen in the capital on Sunday (October 18).
A press release of the Foreign Affairs Ministry revealed the news.
During the meeting, the Foreign Minister of Bangladesh also sought help of Philippines in recovering the money of Bangladesh Bank (BB) stolen in 2016.
Dr Momen thanked the Philippines government for all out support to Bangladesh government in getting back $15 million of the $81 million stolen by the hackers.
He also expressed his hope that the Filipino government would continue support till the remainder of the money is recovered.
Assuring Dhaka of his government’s full support to Bangladesh Bank on the money recovery issue, the envoy said that Philippines has initiated some measures to combat money laundering.
