Charge sheet against Samrat accepted, hearing on Nov 30

A Dhaka court accepted the charge sheet submitted against expelled Dhaka South Jubo League President Ismail Hossain Chowdhury Samrat in two cases filed under arms and narcotics control acts.
The court also fixed November 30 for hearing on charge framing against the accused in the cases.
Judge KM Emrul Kayesh of the Special Tribunal-1 of Dhaka accepted the charge sheet in presence of Samrat at the courtroom on Tuesday (October 20).
On October 6 last year, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-1) arrested Dhaka South Jubo League President Samrat, and his accomplice Arman from the Chauddagram upazila of Cumilla, over their alleged involvement with illicit casino operations.
Later, the elite force raided Samrat's office in Bhuiyan Trade Centre at Kakrail and recovered a loaded pistol, 1,160 Yaba pills, 19 bottles of foreign liquor and two Kangaroo skins.
He was later sentenced to six months' imprisonment for possessing animal hide.
On October 7 that year, RAB-1 filed two cases against Samrat with Ramna Police Station under arms and narcotics control acts.
