TCB to sell potatoes at Tk 25 per kg from Wednesday

The Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) is set to start selling potatoes at Tk 25 per kg at different important place in the capital from Wednesday (October 21) as per directives of Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi.
Each person can buy two kilogrammes of potatoes at a time. Alongside, onions, edible oil, sugar and pulse will be sold at affordable prices.
Meanwhile, considering the overall situation, the price of potato has been re-fixed at Tk 27 per kg at the cold storage level, Tk 30 at the wholesale level and Tk 35 at the retail level by the Agriculture Marketing Directorate under the Ministry of Agriculture.
The government organization has requested all the deputy commissioners (DCs) to take necessary measures for strict monitoring and surveillance so that everyone, including cold storage, wholesale and retailers, sell potatoes at fixed prices.
