Maritime ports asked to hoist signal No 4

Maritime ports of Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla and Payra have been advised to hoist local cautionary signal number 4 as the depression over the northwest Bay and adjoining area moved northward, intensified into a deep depression over the same area.
In a weather bulletin, the met office confirmed the matter on Thursday (October 22).
“Maximum sustained wind speed within 48 kilometers per hour of the deep depression center is about 50 kilometer per hour rising to 60KMP in the gusts or squalls. Sea will remain rough near the deep depression center,” according to the weather update.
All fishing boats and trawlers over the North Bay have been advised to take shelter till further notice. They are also advised not to venture into the deep sea.
