NBR face huge shortfall in revenue collection

The National Board of Revenue (NBR) faced a huge shortfall in revenue collection in the first margin of the fiscal years 2020-2021 (July-September).
According to the provisional calculations of NBR, Tk 49,989 crore revenue was collected against a revised target of Tk 63,713 crore in first three months, falling short of around Tk13,724.
78.46 percent revenue was achieved against the target. However, the NBR attained 4.11% growth within the time compared to the same period of the previous year.
Deficit in revenue collection was Tk 15,000 crore in the last fiscal year (2019-20). NBR collected Tk 48,017 crore.
The revenue collection target was set at Tk3,30,000 crore for the 2020-21 fiscal year.
