One dies in Kishoreganj gas cylinder blast

One of the burn victims of Kishoreganj gas cylinder explosion has died.

The burn victim Sufia Khatun, 60, passed away around 12:30pm on Sunday (October 25) while undergoing treatment at the Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery in the capital's Chankharpul.

Confirming the matter to risingbd, Dr Partha Shankar Pal, resident physician of Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery, said, 75 percent of Sufia’s body was burnt.

Besides, condition of six people admitted to the hospital over the incident is critical. One has returned home after recovery, he said.

Mentionable, a cylinder exploded from leakage of its pipe while cooking meal on Saturday (October 24) noon, leaving eight members of a family burnt at Katakhal village under Mithamoin of Kishoreganj.

After the incident, the burn victims were admitted to Jahurul Islam Medical College and Hospital of Bajitpur in Kishoreganj and primary treatment was given to them.

Later, the burn victims were shifted to Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery in Dhaka when their condition started deteriorating.
