PM issues directives to increase capability of local govt institutions

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has issued directives to increase the capability of city corporations and local government institutions.

The premier made the directives in the meeting of the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) on Tuesday (October 27).

Planning Division Secretary Md Asadul Islam media over the directives after the meeting.

He said, “PM has directed to provide the total cost for the projects of Dhaka City Corporations from the government funds. She also said that the capability of city corporations or local government institutions needs to be enhanced. So how to do it slowly, which institution will do what, how the organization will revive, it will have to be revisited entirely.”
 
Asadul Islam said, “It is seen that the implementation of the project requires time, in many cases, the secretaries or officials are transferred. PM directed that there should be no gap in the implementation of the project due to this transfer. Those who will stay and those who are new must be informed by an orientation so that no gap is created.”
