Worker stabbed to death in city’s Chawkbazar

A worker was stabbed to death in front of a plastic factory at Khaja Dewan lane in the capital’s Chawkbazar area.

The incident took place around 8:00pm on Tuesday (October 27).

The deceased was known as Illias Hossain, 24.

Deceased’s cousin Ayub Ali said, “Three miscreants stabbed Illias indiscriminately while he was returning home from his work place around 8:00pm, leaving him seriously injured. Locals rushed him to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) where duty doctors declared him dead.
Miscreants also stabbed another worker named Selim as he appeared before them at the moment, leaving him injured. He is currently undergoing treatment in the hospital, he added.

DMCH police outpost in-charge (Inspector) Md Bachchu Mia confirmed the matter. 

He said, “The body was kept at the morgue for autopsy. Local police station was informed about the matter, he said.
