Govt ready to deal with second wave of coronavirus: PM

Endorsing the assumption made by the experts about the second wave of coronavirus or Covid-19 likely to start in the coming winter season in the country, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said that the government has taken preparation to deal with it.

She said this while speaking at an award giving ceremony of “Swadhinata Purashkar-2020” (Independence Award-2020), held at the Osmani Memorial Auditorium here in the capital on Thursday (Oct 29) after being virtually connected to the ceremony from her official residence Ganabhaban here.

Urging all to comply with the health protocol set to contain the spread of coronavirus, Sheikh Hasina said the government has taken adequate preparation so that people do not get infected with coronavirus.

“We are ready to deal with the second wave of coronavirus and taking various measures to face it. We have kept all the district hospitals ready for use,” she said.
