50 arrested in anti-drug drives in Dhaka

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has arrested 50 people and seized drugs after carrying out anti-drug drives in the capital.

Arrests were made and drugs were seized after carrying out anti-drug drives in different areas of the capital from 6 am on Sunday (November 22) to 6 am on Monday (November 23), according to a DMP press release.

The seized drugs include 1,820 pieces of yaba, 53 grams of heroine, 13.1 kilograms of hemp, 215 bottles of local wine.

33 cases have been filed against the arrestees under the Narcotics Control Act.
