‘Earning foreign currency possible by exporting foods’

Fisheries and Livestock Minister SM Rezaul Karim has said that it is possible to earn a huge amount of foreign exchange by exporting Bangladeshi food among other things. If we can proceed through the proper process, we will be able to earn a lot of foreign exchange.

The Minister said this while speaking at inauguration programme of a newly constructed building of the divisional livestock office at Boyra in Khulna on Friday (November 27).

SM Rezaul Karim, “BNP wants to make the country poor. On the other hand Sheikh Hasina has made the country self-sufficient. BNP government wanted the country not to be self-sufficient. Because foreign aid will not be available if the country becomes self-sufficient. That was what they wanted. They wanted to turn us into poor and beggars. But Bangabandhu’s daughter Sheikh Hasina believes that if one is not self-sufficient, one does not have human dignity. Today, under her leadership, Bangladesh has achieved self-sufficiency in food. We hope that in the near future, Bangladesh will be able to earn valuable foreign exchange by exporting food.
