National Income Tax Day today

The ‘National Income Tax Day-2020’ is being observed today (Monday) across the country aiming to create awareness among the people for payment of income tax regularly.

The National Board of Revenue (NBR) has chalked out different programmes to observe the day with the slogan “Sobai Mile Dibo Kor, Desh Hobe Swanirvor (We all will pay tax, the country will be self-reliant)”.

The theme of this year’s tax day is ‘Ensuring a taxpayer-friendly environment by providing transparent and modern tax services’.

President M Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina have issued separate messages on the occasion, wishing a success of the day.

In their messages, the President and the Prime Minister greeted all officials and employees of the NBR and tax-paying individuals and companies marking the income tax day.

Marking the day, a virtual seminar titled “Increasing the scope of income tax collection through improved services” will be held at the NBR conference room at 11.00am.

Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal will address the seminar as the chief guest with NBR Chairman Abu Hena Md Rahmatul Muneem in the chair.
