Nomani, Mashiur elected DRU president, gen secy

Mursalin Nomani and Mashiur Rahman Khan have been elected president and general secretary of Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) for the next one year.
Mursalin Nomani, Mursalin Nomani, senior reporter of Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS) bagged 526 votes while Mashiur Rahman Khan, senior reporter of Daily Samakal got 447 votes in the election held on Monday (November 30).
Besides, getting 553 votes, Oslamn Gani Babul has been elected as vice-president while Arafat Daria as joint-secretary of the organisation. Arafat Daria got 326 votes.
The other elected office bearers are – Shah Alam Nur, finance secretary (753 votes); Mainul Hasan Sohel, organising secretary (770); Md Jafar Iqbal, office secretary (650); Rita Nahar, women affairs secretary; Maeedur Rahman Rubel, publicity and publication secretary; Halim Mohammad, information technology and training secretary (646); Maksuda Lisa, sports secretary (792); Mizan Chowdhury, cultural affairs secretary (760); Mohammad Noimddin, hospitality secretary (584); and Khalid Saifullah, welfare secretary.
