Four projects including third submarine cable approved

The Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) has approved four projects including the project titled ‘Installation of Third Submarine Cable to Expand International Telecommunication System of Bangladesh’.

The meeting held on Tuesday with Prime Minister and ECNEC Chairperson Sheikh Hasina in the chair approved the four projects with an outlay of Tk 2,115.20 crore.

After the meeting, member of the General Economics Department of the Planning Commission and Senior Secretary Dr. Shamsul Alam briefed the journalists about the projects.

Of the total project cost, Tk 1,440.87 crore will come from the government fund, Tk 300.83 crore from own fund while the remaining Tk 373.50 crore will come from foreign loan, he said.
