Travel ban issued on Posts DG Sudhangshu

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has sent a letter to the Special Branch (SB) of police (Immigration), requesting it to bar director general (DG) of the postal department Sudhangshu Shekhar Bhadra and Inspector Rabeya Khatun from leaving the country as primary investigation found evidence of corruption against them.

The letter signed by ACC’s investigation team chief Deputy Director Md Salahuddin was issued on Tuesday (December 1).

The public relations department of the anti-graft watchdog confirmed this to risingbd.

Earlier on November 10, the Posts and Telecommunications Division sent Sudhangshu Shekhar Bhadra, director general (DG) of the postal department, on forced leave as primary investigation found evidence of corruption against him.

According to a notice issued to this end, several allegations were brought against Sudhangshu and evidence of corruption was found against him. As a result, concerned authorities decided to send him on forced leave.

Earlier, on September 1, the ACC interrogated the DG at ACC headquarters on allegations of irregularities and corruption in the procurement for government projects.
