Security guard of Dihan’s house gives deposition

Md Dulal Mia, security guard of Fardin Iftekhar Dihan’s house, gave deposition before a Dhaka court in connection with a case filed over the rape and murder of an English medium school student in Kalabagan area of the capital.

Inspector of Kalabagan Police Station AFM Asaduzzaman, also the Investigation Officer of the case, filed a petition with the court to record Dulal’s statement as a witness after producing him before the court. Later, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mamunur Rashid recorded his statement.

Sub-Inspector (SI) Swapan Kumar, general recording officer (GRO) of the court confirmed the information.

Earlier on January 8, Iftekhar Fardin Dihan, 18, the lone accused in the case filed over the rape and murder of an 'O' level student in Kalabagan area, gave his confessional statement before the same court.

The victim's father on January 7 filed the case with Kalabagan Police Station against Dihan under the Women and Children Repression Prevention Act.

In the case statement, the complainant alleged that Fardin tricked his daughter to go to his flat in the capital's Kalabagan area and raped her when his family members were not home that day.

Due to rape, the victim bled profusely and was unconscious. Fardin then took her to hospital to deflect blame, the victim's father alleged.
