Bangladeshi doctor, lyricist dies of corona infection in USA

Expatriate Bangladeshi dentist and lyricist Dr. Messer Ahmed has died of coronavirus infection in New York, USA.

He died Monday night at North Shore University Hospital.

He was 64 years old at the time of his death.

He is survived by his wife, two sons and two daughters.

The death of Messer Ahmed has cast a shadow of mourning among Bangladeshis living in the United States, including New York.

Dr. Messrs Ahmed was President of Bangladesh Dental Association in the United States.

His hailed from Chanpur village of Mehendiganj upazila in Barishal district.

He obtained his PhD from the Third Dental University of Russia after obtaining a degree from Dhaka Dental College.
From there he came to the United States in the late eighties.

After completing DDS in the United States, he began his medical career in Jackson Heights and the Bronx.

He last lived in Astoria and Jackson Heights, New York. He lived permanently on Long Island.
