Additional 15 lakh vaccines coming Thursday

Foreign Minister A K Abdul Momen has said that in addition to the 2 million doses of coronavirus vaccine sent as a gift from India, another 1.5 million doses of vaccine are coming to the country privately on Thursday (January 21).

He came up with the disclosure while addressing a seminar on ‘Creating Employment Abroad and Working in Agriculture Jointly’ at the Foreign Service Academy on Wednesday (January 20).

Foreign Minister said, “A total of 3.5 million doses of vaccine are coming on public and private efforts. The vaccination will start as soon as 20 lakh vaccines will arrive on Thursday as gift from the Indian government. The vaccination programme will continue.

It was informed at the seminar that 2 million doses of coronavirus vaccine sent by India will arrive in Bangladesh on a special flight of Air India on Thursday (January 21) at noon. From there, the vaccine will be kept at EPI’s storage at Tejgaon in the capital.”
