5 ‘Ansar-Al-Islam’ members detained

Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) have detained five active members of the banned militant group Ansar-Al-Islam from Rupnagar area in the capital’s Mirpur.

Assistant Director of RAB-4 ASP Md Ziaur Rahman Chowdhury confirmed the news on Saturday.

The identities of the militants could not be known yet.

Acting on a tip off, a team of RAB-4 conducted a drive in Rupnagar area and detained them, he said.

They also recovered extremist books and leaflets from their possession.
