‘Action to be taken against who involved in incident at jail’

Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said, the incident that took place on January 23 at Kasimpur-1 Prison in Gazipur is a heinous crime. Action will be taken against those who were involved with that.

The minister said this while addressing reporters on Saturday (January 23).

He said, “Details about the matter will be disclosed on Monday (January 24). But, it can be said that those who were involved in the matter, were suspended. Investigation is underway in this regard.”

On the other hand, the jail authority has formed an investigation committee under the leadership of Additional IG Prisons Abrar Hossain.

Inquiries have been initiated after Hallmark Group General Manager (GM) Tushar Ahmed, an inmate in Gazipur’s Kashimpur jail, spent time with a woman in an unauthorized meeting allegedly facilitated by prison officials.
