Govt to start first phase of vaccine roll-out on Jan 27

The government is set to start rolling out the vaccines against Coronavirus on January 27. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the vaccination process on that day.
Prof Abul Bashar Mohammad Khurshid Alam, director-general of the Directorate General of Health confirmed the matter on Saturday (January 23).
He said, the vaccination activities will be inaugurated through vaccinating a nurse of Kurmitola General Hospital in the capital.
Earlier in the day, during a visit at national kidney institute and hospital, Health Secretary Abdul Mannan said, vaccination will be started at Dhaka Medical College Hospital, Mugda General Hospital, Kuwait-Bangladesh Maitree Hospital and Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University.
“Around 400-500 people will get the vaccine shots first. They will be kept under observation for a week before countrywide vaccination campaign begins on Feb 8,” he added.
