People`s Leasing chairman, Intl Leasing ex-MD arrested

People's Leasing and Financial Services Limited (PLFS) Chairman Uzzal Nandi and former managing director of International leasing Rashedul Haque have been arrested for helping PK Halder.

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) arrested them on Sunday (January 24), said, ACC Public Relations Officer (Director) Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya.

He said, remand petition will be sought producing the accused before the court.

According to the case statement, PK Halder went into hiding after allegedly embezzling Tk3,500 crore from various financial institutions. The two accused helped PK Halder in money laundering.
