Directorate of Drug Admin gives permission for vaccination

The Directorate General of Drug Administration (DGDA) has given permission for the use of 50 lakh coronavirus vaccines imported by Beximco Pharma from Serum Institute of India.

Maj Gen Md Mahbubur Rahman, director general at the DGDA, said this while addressing a press conference held at the conference room of the DGDA on Tuesday (January 26).

Mahbubur Rahman said, “We have examined sample of each lot of vaccines thoroughly and the vaccination programme will begin with the application of this vaccine tomorrow (January 27).”

The director general at the DGDA said, “This vaccine is developed by Oxford-Astrazeneca. The United Kingdom has approved the use of this vaccine and it is being applied in that country. Serum Institute of India is the world class vaccine producing institute as per the standard of the World Health Organization (WHO). India has been applying this vaccine for the human body since January 16.”
