Social media act being enacted: Mustafa Jabbar

Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Minister Mustafa Jabbar said, data protection and social media act is being enacted.

The minister came up with the announcement while addressing an online meeting on Thursday (February 25).

He said the draft of social media has been prepared. It will be corrected taking appropriate suggestions and opinions.

Mentioning the necessity of the act, he said, it is possible to protect children and adolescents from digital crime by using parental guidelines, not by keeping them aloof from digital devices.

Monowar Kamal, an official of Ain o Salish Kendra (ASK) presided over the program where MP Aroma Dutta, BTRC Vice-Vice Chairman Shuvrata Roy, Voluntary organization Breaking the Silence (BTS) official Roksana Sultana, ISPAB president MA Hakim and Lalmatia Girls High School Headmaster Kamruzzamand and others joined.
