Coronavirus situation under control in Bangladesh: PM

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has said that the situation arising out of coronavirus epidemic in Bangladesh is now under control.

PM made the remarks when newly appointed Australian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Jeremy Bruer paid a courtesy call on her at the official residence ‘Gonobhabon’ on Wednesday (March 3) morning.

After the meeting, PM’s Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim briefed the reporters.

PM said her government has been able to control the Covid-19 situation by taking timely steps by engaging people from all walks of life including local administration, armed forces, police, BGB, Awami League and its leaders and workers.

The Australian ambassador praised Bangladesh for being able to control the Covid-19 situation. “Bangladesh is ahead of Australia in terms of vaccination,” the press secretary quoted as saying by the Australian ambassador.
