3 HuJI leaders put on 3-day remand

A Dhaka court has placed three leaders of Harkat-ul-Jihad-al-Islami (HuJI) on a three-day remand in a case filed with Jatrabari police station.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate (DMP) Abu Sufian Md. Noman passed the order on Friday (March 5).

The accused are HuJI’s chief coordinator and operation wing chief Md Mainul Islam, Sheikh Sohan Shad alias Bara Abdullah and Murad Hossain Kabir.

Earlier, Counter Terrorism Unit officials produced the accused before the court seeking 10 days remand.

On Thursday (March 4), the law enforcers arrested them from Sayedabad area of Jatrabari in the capital. Meanwhile, a private car, 5 mobile phones, a microphone, a lethal weapon, two knives, 10 detonators, 170 iron bearings, a scotch tape, 5 liters of acid, three identity cards and Jihadi books.
